Rare Model (0:04 – 0:32)

Production – As VFX Production Manager, I assisted our director with breaking down footage into VFX and non-VFX shots for production tracking purposes. In total, the project had 114 VFX shots that needed to be tracked and progress was updated using Google Sheets in the Google Apps suite. I attended VFX meetings and also met with artists to assess their progress and answer any questions they may have had whether story related or technically based. In addition, I assisted with searching and recruiting new artists for the project. I was also in charge of maintaining and updating all of the VFX shots in our Nuke Studio’s timeline.

Compositing – I was responsible for compositing and color correcting two gun flare shots (0:15 – 0:25). Color correction and effects were composited using the Foundry’s Nuke X.

Software: Autodesk Maya, the Foundry’s Nuke X & Nuke Studio

Aeternus (0:33 – 0:56)

Modeling – I was in charge of modeling props like the foliage, crystals, and fountain base using Autodesk Maya.

Camera & Rendering – I was in charge of setting up the camera and rendering for shots 3-4 (0:46 – 0:56) for several animatics. The position and timing of our camera movements were used to help establish the tone of our animation. I was also responsible for researching and solving many of our camera issues since we were using cameras in Unreal Engine 4 for real time rendering.

Production – As Co-Production Manager, I was responsible for recording the minutes of each team meeting and tracking the progress of all seven other team members. I met with each team member daily to discuss their progress and assess any issues they might have been facing.

Software: Autodesk Maya, The Foundry’s Mari, Side FX’s Houdini, Unreal Engine 4
